The Used are again! Following the discharge of the infectious, but pissed-off 2022 anthem, “Fuck You,” the beloved post-hardcore veterans have dropped the venomous new single “Folks Are Vomit,” which is bound to soundtrack the dystopian days forward. The one arrives after the band introduced yesterday that their long-awaited ninth studio album, Poisonous Positivity, is due out Might 19 (through Huge Noise).
On “Folks Are Vomit,” the Used return to their heavier roots in full power, providing a well timed critique of the state of the world and the divisive instances we live in. Vocalist Bert McCracken sounds as explosive as ever over the cyber-punk association, with brutally trustworthy lyrics that state, “This future was fucked earlier than it acquired began/This world is disgusting and persons are vomit.”
