A day after their letters supporting Danny Masterson went public, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis issued an apology.
In an Instagram video posted to Kutcher’s account on Saturday, September 9, the married couple addressed the letters they wrote on behalf of Masterson, their former That ‘70s Present costar, after he was convicted of raping two ladies and earlier than he was sentenced to 30 years to life in jail.
In these letters, Kutcher referred to as Masterson a “position mannequin,” and Kunis stated the 47-year-old had “distinctive character,” as Individuals reported on Friday.
And of their Instagram video on Saturday, Kutcher and Kunis addressed the controversy, with Kutcher saying that they have been “conscious of the ache” their character letters brought on.
“We help victims,” Kunis stated. “We have now completed this traditionally via our work and can proceed to take action sooner or later.”
Kutcher revealed that Masterson’s household reached out to them a few months in the past, asking them to jot down character letters “to characterize the individual that we knew for 25 years in order that the choose might take that into full consideration, relative to the sentencing.”

Kunis added, “The letters weren’t written to query the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling.”
Kutcher stated, “They have been meant for the choose to learn and to not undermine the testimony of the victims or re-traumatize them in any method. We might by no means wish to do this. And we’re sorry if that has taken place.”
