Wes Ball has revealed that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will mark the beginning of a brand new trilogy within the franchise.
The 43-year-old filmmaker is helming the upcoming flick that sees Owen Teague’s chimpanzee Cornelius take over the franchise’s lead position from Andy Serkis and promised that the new installment is the “starting of one thing.”
Ball advised Empire Journal: “From the start we considered this as a trilogy. We had these grand concepts the place it might finally go and the way it might match into the legacy of those films. So I’m actually speaking to (the studio) proper now in regards to the subsequent story.”
