Alan Niven Shares Stories of Managing Rock and Roll Royalty

On June 24, longtime supervisor Alan Niven will have fun the discharge of his first memoir, Sound N’ Fury: Rock N’ Roll Tales. Forward of that, he joined Loudwire Nights on Thursday (June 19) to debate what it was like writing the guide.

“For many years I averted it,” Niven admitted to host Chuck Armstrong.

“I hate rock and roll books. I did attempt writing a manuscript and I discovered it tedious, miserable, a chore. I stored pondering of all of the hiccups, the failures, the errors and what may have been versus what was. I did not take pleasure in it in any method, form or kind.”

When Weapons N’ Roses Stated ‘No’ to the Rolling Stones

Niven’s memoir is not merely a tell-all of his life; it is a assortment of various experiences he is had with the various bands he is labored with, most notably when he managed Weapons N’ Roses from 1986-1991.

In some of the unforgettable tales — the aptly-titled chapter, “Stoned In L.A.” — Niven opens up about why he did not need Weapons N’ Roses to tour with the Rolling Stones.

As he retold the story to the Loudwire Nights viewers, he recalled going to see Metallica with Invoice Elson, who was the reserving agent for the Stones. On the present, they met up with Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch, who co-founded Q Prime Administration and managed Metallica and who can be overseeing the tour.

“My first intestine response was a freaking ping of cramp in my abdomen,” he stated concerning the supply for Weapons N’ Roses to open for Stones.

“It was excellent,” Niven stated.
