Bassist Tetsu Yamauchi, whose profession included stints with Free and the Faces, died Dec. 4 on the age of 79.

A press release shared by his household on social media famous that Yamauchi “handed away peacefully, surrounded by household. We sincerely thank everybody who loved Tetsu’s music and provided type phrases till now. These had been enjoyable occasions. It’s a very long time, however a short while.”

Born in Fukuoka, Japan, Yamauchi received his begin in music within the late ‘60s with the Japanese prog rock group Micky Curtis & the Samurais. The band launched a pair of albums in 1971 earlier than Yamauchi was recruited to hitch Free members Paul Kossoff, Simon Kirke and John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick for a one-off album referred to as Kossoff Kirke Tetsu Rabbit.

In a message on social media, Kirke remembered Yamauchi as “ pal and a terrific bass participant. My condolences to his household and shut pals. Might he relaxation in peace.”
