John Mellencamp has revealed the state of daughter Teddi Mellencamp’s most cancers journey in a brand new interview.
The singer, 74, stated in an interview with Folks that the Actual Housewives of Beverley Hills alum has “been going by means of hell the final 12 months”.
He added that “she has 10 lesions in her mind … [and even though the lesions are not cancerous right now, they still interrupt her thinking, and it’s in her frontal lobe”.
Last October, Teddi revealed in a hopeful update to fans on her podcast Two Ts in a Pod with fellow Real Housewives alum Tamra Judge that her cancer was “gone”.
However, she clarified that this does not mean she is considered to be in remission and will need to continue immunotherapy for “another couple years”.
“I’m still going to be having days where I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy so I’m still fighting,” she explained.
“People think just because the cancer’s gone that I can’t still get sick or whatever but I’m still in treatment so I still have a compromised immune system so I have to still be careful.”

John echoed this sentiment, explaining to People that while the cancer may be gone, the lesions on her brain “are still there”.
“That doesn’t mean she’s home free; it just means right now there’s no cancer. So she has to keep on this treatment for who knows how many years”.
John added that Teddi’s “personality has changed” as a result of her cancer battle.
“She’s still the same person, but she’s not the same person. It’s not fun.
Mellencamp was first diagnosed in October 2022 with stage two melanoma.
The cancers later progressed to stage four and metastasized to her lungs and brain.
Early last year, she revealed that doctors told her she had a “50/50” chance of surviving cancer.
In October, she revealed that a scan revealed “no detectable cancer” but that her immunotherapy treatment would continue.
She revealed she felt positive about the ongoing treatment.
“I’ll get through it.”
