NEW DELHI: The Centre’s current mandate for SIM or Subscriber Id Module binding is geared toward strengthening nationwide safety in addition to stopping cell frauds, enabling law-enforcement businesses to successfully monitor in case of any misuse.

Business estimates recommend that subscribers misplaced ₹19,812 crore in 2025 alone as a result of mobile-led frauds that adopted losses of ₹22,849.49 crore in 2024, ₹7,463.2 crore in 2023, and ₹2,290.23 crore in 2022.
