Brad Arnold, frontman of three Doorways Down, has died on the age of 47 following a battle with most cancers.

The vocalist was identified with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a sort of kidney most cancers, in 2025. The band shared an announcement on social media saying his demise earlier immediately (Feb. 7), which reads:

With heavy hearts, we share the information that Brad Arnold, founder, lead singer and songwriter of three Doorways Down, handed away on Saturday, February seventh, on the age of 47.

Together with his beloved spouse Jennifer and his household by his aspect, he handed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, in his sleep after his brave battle with most cancers.

As a founding member, vocalist and unique drummer of three Doorways Down, Brad helped redefine mainstream rock music, mixing post-grunge accessibility with emotionally direct songwriting and lyrical themes that resonated with on a regular basis listeners. Brad’s songwriting turned a cultural touchstone for a era, producing a number of the most enduring hits of the 2000s, together with the band’s breakout hit, ‘Kryptonite,’ which he wrote in his math class when he was simply 15 years previous.

The singles “Kryptonite,” “Loser” and “Duck and Run” from their debut album The Higher Life helped push the band into the mainstream. The album peaked at No. 7 within the U.S. and has since been licensed seven instances platinum by the RIAA.

The band achieved their first No. 1 album in 2005 with Seventeen Days. 

Arnold revealed that he’d been identified with stage 4 most cancers in a video on social media in Might of 2025, which pressured the band to cancel their tour plans for the yr.
