Following the announcement of her solo challenge earlier this summer time, the Marías singer María Zardoya has shared particulars of her forthcoming album, Soften. It marks the primary launch as Not for Radio, one thing Zardoya described as her “alternate actuality.” Soften has 10 songs and shall be launched on Oct. 10 through Atlantic Data, with vinyl preorders out there now. To date, no tracks from Soften have been launched, however Zardoya has posted three messages explaining the inspiration behind the album whereas teasing songs from the tracklist.
“My intention with this challenge was to make music for the love of experimenting, removed from house, totally within the second, open to no matter stream of consciousness unfolded round us,” Zardoya explains. “That’s precisely what we did within the snowy woods, tucked away, as ice melted beneath our toes and as we melted into the songs. What grew from the melted ice is that this album.”

Earlier this summer time, Zardoya introduced that she had created a solo challenge separate from her work with the Marías. “Don’t fear, the band shall be right here perpetually,” Zardoya says. “I really like making music because the Marías, and nothing will ever change that. However I wished to problem myself to make a challenge that resonated with me another way. There are layers to who all of us are as people, and that is one other layer of me, one other flower within the backyard.”
