This is some information Ned Sampson can be completely happy to interrupt: “The Paper” formally has a return date.
Peacock’s “The Workplace” spin-off will probably be again for Season 2 on Wednesday, September 9, TVLine has realized. All sophomore episodes will probably be launched directly, as was the case with Season 1.
Hailing from “Workplace” creator Greg Daniels and “SNL” vet Michael Koman, “The Paper” finds the identical documentary crew that when adopted Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton department now chronicling the day-to-day operations at a struggling Midwestern newspaper. Domhnall Gleeson — certainly one of our 2026 Dream Emmy Nominees — stars as Ned Sampson, the brand new editor-in-chief of the Toledo Fact Teller who hopes to convey the paper again to its former glory; the ensemble contains Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Alex Edelman, and Oscar Nuñez, who reprises his “Workplace” function of Oscar Martinez within the offshoot. (Listed below are 10 different OG characters we might prefer to see return.)
In Season 2, Ned will seek for a journalistic campaign after the Fact Teller swept the Ohio Journalism Awards, finally coming for a neighborhood non-public membership and jeopardizing the paper. In the meantime, per the official logline, “he and Mare (Frei) strive to determine their attraction, Esmeralda (Impacciatore) struggles to seek out her place, and the employees steadily matures as reporters.”
