![]() | Has anybody outdoors the Balkans seen the film Ko to tamo peva (Who's Singing Over There)? It's a masterpiece of darkish comedy and satire, set on the eve of World Struggle II in Yugoslavia, that follows a gaggle of misfit characters on a chaotic bus experience to Belgrade. The movie brilliantly captures the absurdity and unpredictability of life within the Balkans, with humor that mixes the tragic and the ridiculous. I'm from Serbia, so I can relate to those characters and conditions, and whereas a few of the cultural nuances may not come throughout as strongly in translation, there may be an English-subtitled model of the film on YouTube. I extremely encourage you to test it out! submitted by /u/_wheelchair69 |
