Now, the All-Indian Cine Employees Affiliation (AICWA) has formally requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cease exhibiting social media accounts of Pakistani actors in India as they’ve reappeared after many days of being banned from India.  

The organisation has demanded a whole and everlasting ban on the digital and media presence of all Pakistani nationals and entertainment-related entities in India. In an announcement shared by way of its official X (previously Twitter) account, the affiliation expressed concern over the reappearance of Pakistani actors and media channels on Indian digital platforms.  

AICWA calls it “emotional assault” 

AICWA cited the energetic social media presence of Pakistani celebrities resembling Mawra Hocane and Yumna Zaidi, together with a number of Pakistan-based leisure retailers, calling it “an emotional assault” on the households of victims of terrorism. “This isn’t merely a digital look, it’s a direct insult to the sacrifice of our martyred troopers,” the affiliation mentioned. It referenced terror assaults together with 26/11, Pulwama, Uri, and Pahalgam as a part of its attraction, reiterating its long-standing place that Pakistan is accountable for continued cross-border terrorism.  

AICWA additionally raised objections to statements allegedly made by Pakistani public figures following India’s current Operation Sindoor, stating that “as a substitute of exhibiting regret, a number of Pakistani artists have shamelessly spoken in opposition to India.” Highlighting the cultural disconnect already in place from Pakistan’s facet, AICWA identified that Indian movies and content material stay banned in Pakistan because the Pulwama assault.
