‘Unofficial Bridgerton Musical’ becomes first Grammy-winning album to originate on TikTok

Emily Bear and Abigail Barlow’s Grammy win for greatest musical theatre album for The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical marks the primary award from the Recording Academy to go to a challenge that originated on TikTok.

Burnham’s album went to No. 1 on the comedy chart — and remained in that high spot over 18 weeks. The win comes after Burnham’s Inside (The Songs) had been nixed as a contender within the comedy album class for the 2022 Grammys.
