CSI: Vegas‘ is including two new our bodies to the morgue.

Within the wake of former sequence common Mel Rodriguez‘ exit as Chief Medical Examiner Hugo Ramirez (full story right here), the CBS procedural has tapped Sara Amini (Future Man) to switch him because the sequence’ new post-mortem boss, Sonya.

Moreover, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel vet Joel Johnstone can be becoming a member of CSI: Vegas‘ upcoming second season. He’ll play Jack, the assistant health worker (and Sonya’s older brother).

Each castings — that are of the recurring selection — had been first reported by Deadline.

Rodriguez was one in all two actors who departed CSI: Vegas following Season 1. Franchise Jorja Fox introduced final January that she wouldn’t be returning for Season 2. In a message to followers on social media, the actress revealed that her resolution to bow out forward of Season 2 was straight tied to the previously-announced exit of longtime main man William Petersen (whose preliminary dedication didn’t prolong past Season 1).

To assist fill the void, CBS has recruited Fox’s former CSI colleague Marg Helgenberger to reprise her OG position as Catherine in an unspecified variety of Season 2 episodes. Lex Medlin (Drop Useless Diva) and Ariana Guerra (Helstrom, Promised Land) are additionally becoming a member of the ensemble as new members of the staff.

CSI: Vegas‘ second season will launch Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on CBS.
