California punk trio FIDLAR is again with their first new music since 2019 within the type of “FSU,” which can even be included on an EP due in early 2023. “FSU” is accompanied by a Ryan Baxley-directed video through which the band gnaws away on uncooked steak, tattoos each other and is overrun by black tar.

 

“New FIDLAR is leaning into the extremes,” the band says. “Loud, louder, loud. Three chords and the reality. Catchy and obnoxious. Lyrics are very thought mouth. It’s talking to the FIDIOTS of the world.”

“FSU” was produced by Dave Sardy, who has labored with everybody from LCD Soundsystem and Gorillaz to ZZ Prime and The Who. FIDLAR’s most up-to-date album was 2019’s Nearly Free, which reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Various Album Gross sales chart.

FIDLAR will embark on a short run of fall reveals Sept. 8-9 on the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.
