Did you notice it? It’s there within the picture above. Are you able to see it?

This week’s Andor ends with a scene within the showroom of Stellan Skarsgard’s Luthen Rael. Rael is an antiques seller, or at the very least that’s his cowl. In fact, Rael is secretly one of many early members of the Insurgent Alliance. And he has recruited Cassian Andor to help in an all-important heist on the planet of Aldhani.

Episode 5, “The Axe Forgets,” chronicles the ultimate preparations for the mission. Simply earlier than the closing credit, we see Rael again in his store, fretting over the result. He retains checking his radio to see if there’s any phrase from the Rebels, however the mission hasn’t even taken place but. When the scene cuts to close-up, look over Skarsgard’s left shoulder, within the prime proper of the body. There, you’ll see the Sankara Stones from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

For those who haven’t seen the film, the Stones are Temple of Doom’s MacGuffin. Indy winds up at a village in India that has fallen into chaos after their sacred stone (and their youngsters) have been stolen by a cult of Kali worshipers. Indy and his allies enterprise to the close by Pankot Palace to retrieve the stone, together with assorted fortune and glory.

In close-ups, the important thing Temple of Doom Stone prop had three horizontal strains throughout it similar to those on the 2 stones on Rael’s shelf. If these aren’t meant to be the Sankara Stones (or at the very least an homage to them) it’s a wild coincidence.

After all Lucasfilm owns each Star Wars and the Indiana Jones motion pictures, and the 2 franchises have referenced each other up to now — actually in Temple of Doom itself, Indy visits a Shanghai nightclub named Membership Obi Wan. So this wouldn’t be the primary time one thing like this has occurred.
