The primary official photographs for the upcoming movie adaptation of Ottessa Moshfegh’s interval thriller drama Eileen have been revealed, offering us with our first take a look at main stars Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie. The movie had its world premiere final weekend on the 2023 Sundance Movie Competition.
The Eileen photographs tease the chemistry between Hathaway and McKenzie as they painting the respective roles of Dr. Rebecca St. John and Eileen, who work collectively at a jail. They’ll kind an unlikely bond which can in some way cause them to get entangled in a surprising crime.

Eileen is directed by William Oldroyd from a screenplay written by Moshfegh and Luke Goebel. The movie stars Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit, Final Evening in Soho), Anne Hathaway (The Satan Wears Prada), Shea Whigham (True Detective), Marin Eire (The Umbrella Academy), and Owen Teague (The Stand).
“The movie follows a peculiar younger lady whose dreary life stretches on towards endless distress,” reads the synopsis (through Sundance). “In frigid Nineteen Sixties Boston, Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) shuffles between her father’s dingy, emotionally haunted house, and the jail the place she works alongside colleagues who’ve ostracized her. When an intoxicating lady (Anne Hathaway) joins the jail workers, Eileen is taken. Simply when the potential of a salvational friendship (or perhaps extra) takes maintain and types a singular glimmer in Eileen’s darkness, her newfound confidant entangles her in a surprising crime that alters all.”
