Saying goodbye to a brilliant star. Lance Reddick‘s Hollywood colleagues sang his praises as each an actor and a human being after the Wire alum died at 60 on Friday, March 17.
“Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick handed away all of a sudden this morning from pure causes,” the actor’s rep stated in a press release to Us Weekly on Friday. “He’s survived by his spouse Stephanie Reddick and youngsters Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Donations in his reminiscence will be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown. Lance might be enormously missed. Please respect his household’s privateness right now.”
Among the many first to pay tribute to the Maryland native was Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Lance on the HBO crime drama The Wire.
“A person of nice power and beauty,” Pierce, 59, wrote by way of Twitter on Friday. “As gifted a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of sophistication. A sudden surprising sharp painful grief for our creative household. An unimaginable struggling for his private household and family members. Godspeed my buddy. You made your mark right here. RIP.”
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn chimed in, “Lance Reddick was an extremely good man and an extremely gifted actor. That is heartbreaking. My love goes out to all his household, associates and collaborators.”
Lance was within the midst of a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4 on the time of his loss of life, with an look on The Kelly Clarkson Present scheduled for subsequent week. He was beautiful in that and all he did,” the Zoolander star, 57, wrote by way of Twitter, including, “nothing is misplaced” alongside a coronary heart emoji.
Stephen King, in the meantime, famous that the information of Lance’s passing at “the horribly unfair age of 60” got here as he was “midway by rewatching The Wire.”
The novelist, 75, continued: “Fantastic actor; great man. That is unhappy information.”
