Warner Bros. Footage has launched a model new trailer for the upcoming musical movie adaptation of The Shade Purple. This film tells the story of the “extraordinary sisterhood of three girls who share one unbreakable bond.”
The movie is predicated on a 1982 novel by Alice Walker and the musical stage play. The story facilities on Celie, a Black Southern girl within the early 1900s century who’s abused by her father and husband. It entails life-long struggles of an African American girl dwelling within the South throughout this period.
Steven Spielberg directed the unique movie adaptation in 1985, which starred Oprah Winfrey. Each Spielberg and Winfrey are government producers on this new mission, which was helmed by Blitz Bazawule (Black Is King, The Burial of Kojo).
The Shade Purple stars Taraji P. Henson (What Males Need, Hidden Figures), Danielle Brooks (Peacemaker, Orange Is the New Black), Colman Domingo (Ma Rainey’s Black Backside, Concern the Strolling Useless), Corey Hawkins (Within the Heights, BlacKkKlansman), H.E.R. (Judas and the Black Messiah, Magnificence and the Beast: A thirtieth Celebration), Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid, Grown-ish), Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (King Richard, If Beale Avenue May Speak), and Fantasia Barrino in her main movement image debut.
The screenplay is by Marcus Gardley (Maid, The Chi) and the music and lyrics have been written by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.
The film can be launched in theaters on December twenty fifth.
