Throughout a latest interview with Marie Claire, Oscar nominee Kirsten Dunst opened up about her expertise filming A24’s upcoming dystopian thriller Civil Struggle, the place painting the position of photojournalist Lee Smith.

Dunst shared that the manufacturing of Civil Struggle “shook me [her] to my [core],” which led her to develop “PTSD for an excellent two weeks” after she was performed filming.

“I keep in mind listening to them observe an explosion. We have been within the hair and make-up trailer, which was very distant from set, and the entire trailer shook.” She recalled. “There’s a lot gunfire, and you then take a look at the information and it’s a college taking pictures once more.”

What to anticipate in Civil Struggle?

Civil Struggle is written and directed by Alex Garland (28 Days Later). It stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, and Jonica T. Gibbs. It’s produced by Gregory Goodman, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich.

“Within the close to future, a workforce of journalists journey throughout the US throughout a quickly escalating civil conflict that has engulfed the complete nation, struggling to outlive throughout a near-future the place the federal government has change into a dystopian dictatorship and partisan extremist militias recurrently commit political violence,” the synopsis reads.

Civil Wars arrives in theaters on April 12.
