Mark your calendars. The 2025 Palm Springs Movie Competition will run from January 2 by way of January 13, and the 2025 Movie Awards will happen on Friday, January 3, the Palm Springs Worldwide Movie Society introduced Thursday.
One of many first stops on the street to Oscars, practically all honorees on the 2024 Movie Awards went on to obtain Academy Award nominations and 5 went on to win Oscars. Those that obtained Oscar noms embody Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell (Chairman’s Award), Carey Mulligan (Worldwide Star Award, Actress), Cillian Murphy (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor), Colman Domingo (Highlight Award, Actor), Danielle Brooks (Highlight Award, Actress), Da’Vine Pleasure Randolph (Breakthrough Efficiency Award), Emma Stone (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress), Greta Gerwig (Director of the Yr), Jeffrey Wright (Profession Achievement Award), and Killers of the Flower Moon (Vanguard Award). Murphy, Randolph, Stone, Eilish and O’Connell all received Academy Awards of their respective classes.
The 2025 Palm Springs Worldwide Movie Awards can be co-presented by IHG Resorts & Resorts and promoting company Silvercrest.
