
“It’s unconventional and easy and simply stunning,” Turnstile’s Brendan Yates says of their new cowl for triple j’s Like a Model collection — the Stone Roses’ “I Wanna Be Adored.”
Turnstile ripped via covers of hardcore classics, primarily Unhealthy Brains and Minor Risk, of their early days. Their newest, like their previous few albums, expresses their musical tastes that transcend heavy music, falling into a distinct, baggier lane for the studio look. Recorded again in January when the band introduced their NEVER ENOUGH tour to Australia, the Turnstile frontman tells triple J that the music, opening the Stone Roses’ 1989 self-titled debut, is certainly one of his “favourite[s] of all time.”

“[It has] one of the iconic basslines of all time… With the passing of Mani, it felt like a extremely acceptable time to pay homage to him,” guitarist Meg Mills provides. “Undoubtedly as a Brit, the Stone Roses have been a type of bands that each child who had any inkling towards something various simply knew from such an early age.
