They began the set with “Pep Speak” and “Stone Over Water” from their newest LP, I Constructed You a Tower, earlier than reaching again into their discography to play 2003’s Transatlanticism single “Title and Registration” and “Soul Meets Physique” from 2005’s Plans.

“Plenty of [our songs] have gotten oldies now,” vocalist/guitarist Ben Gibbard says. “I’m beginning to understand that a few of our earlier information got here out an analogous distance away from, like, the Beatles information once I was a child.”
This Tiny Desk efficiency is their first with a full lineup — in 2015, Gibbard had a damaged wrist, singing solo and not using a guitar, with Zac Rae on piano and Nick Harmer on bass.
The band just lately wrapped the North American leg of their tour and can start their Europe and U.Okay. leg later this fall.
