The 53rd Daytime Emmys opened with Traci Abbott profitable, & truthfully, that was sufficient for me to name it an evening & go to mattress joyful. I didn’t, although. I stored watching, as a result of Younger & the Stressed‘s most well-known rapist was up for an Emmy too. Oh, what an evening…
Aunt Traci Wins & the Coronary heart of Genoa Metropolis Will get Her Due
Beth Maitland took Excellent Supporting Actress, a long time after her first Daytime Emmy. “I used to be equally as gobsmacked again then as a younger actress, and I can’t let you know how significant it’s to be right here,” she stated. Everybody wants an Aunt Traci, & on Friday evening, everybody obtained one. I known as this one from day one, & I’m not executed gloating.
Matt Clark Wins & Roger Howarth Pulled Off the Unattainable
Roger Howarth received Excellent Supporting Actor for Matt Clark. That’s the identical Matt Clark who raped Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) again within the day. Roger Howarth made that man likable, which is strictly why he deserved this Emmy. It’s his second win, greater than 30 years after his first for Todd Manning on One Life to Dwell. Love him or hate him, you possibly can’t look away.
My decide on this class was BTG’s Invoice Hamilton, however Matt was my backup. The very best half? The City Hobo, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), didn’t win, so no screaming at my TV required.
The Remainder of the Evening
Younger & the Stressed walked in with 18 nominations & walked out with three wins, together with costume design. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) misplaced Lead Actor to Scott Clifton (Liam, The Daring & the Lovely), & The Mustache didn’t look amused. Phyllis Summers misplaced Lead Actress to BTG’s Tamara Tunie (Anita). Basic Hospital took each Drama Collection & Writing, & Days of Our Lives received Directing.

Three direct hits & one backup. Each of my rock-paper-scissors calls landed: BTG’s Anita (Tamara Tunie) took Lead Actress & Eva (Ambyr Michelle) received Rising Expertise. The brand new youngsters went 2 for 15 of their first 12 months, & Y&R went 2 for 18. Make of that what you’ll.
Subsequent up: November 11, when the brand new writers FINALLY take over Genoa Metropolis.
Did your favorites win, or are you continue to screaming at your TV? It’s not my first day watching Y&R & it isn’t yours both. What’s your take?
