Seven months after XO, Kitty season 3 hit Netflix, we’re nonetheless ready for official phrase on Kitty Tune Covey’s future. Within the absence of an announcement, followers have taken their questions straight to the solid, and the solutions Anthony Keyvan has been giving in his TikTok feedback aren’t those they have been hoping for.

Keyvan, who performs Kitty’s greatest good friend Q, has been fielding a flood of season 4 questions below one among his latest TikToks. When one fan requested “AYEE WHERE IS THE NEXT SEASON,” Keyvan replied: “Gonna maintain your hand once I say this…” That trade alone has racked up 1000’s of likes, and the video’s remark part has now handed 700 feedback.

He didn’t push again on the panic elsewhere within the thread both. A fan who wrote “UR TELLING ME THERES NOT GONNA BE A NEXT SEASON OF XO KITTY” obtained a meme in response, as did one other who pleaded, “Don’t mess with me there’s a season 4 proper.”

Keyvan has beforehand prompt the present was canceled way back to July “It’s not coming…”

So, has XO, Kitty truly been canceled?

Formally, no. Netflix hasn’t renewed the sequence, however it hasn’t canceled it both, and till the streamer says in any other case, the present stays in limbo.

We reached out to Netflix for touch upon Friday however didn’t obtain a response – we are going to replace you if we do.

It’s additionally value stressing what Keyvan hasn’t mentioned. There’s no assertion right here, no point out of a choice from Netflix, and nothing to inform us whether or not he’s been instructed one thing behind the scenes or is just studying the room seven months on. Some fan posts are describing this as affirmation, however a number of cryptic feedback aren’t fairly that and he’s additionally wound up and misled followers earlier than.

Again in 2023, he notably replied to somebody saying “There isn’t a season 2.”

Again in Might, Anna Cathcart instructed Us Weekly that season 4 was “such an enormous query mark proper now” and that the solid was nonetheless ready on a solution. Quite a bit may have modified since then, after all, however we haven’t heard something farther from the present’s leads or creator Jenny Han. One fan famous on October thirtieth that Cathcart’s social profile has been up to date to take away any point out of XO, Kitty.

There’s one other essential wrinkle right here: a season 4 not taking place wouldn’t essentially be the tip of Kitty’s story.

As we lined in July, Deadline reported that Paramount Tv Studios had prolonged Netflix’s choice on the sequence, giving the streamer extra time to determine. The choices on the desk included a fourth season, in Seoul or a brand new setting, or a film to wrap issues up. The solid’s choices have been prolonged too, preserving them out there if Netflix orders extra.

That’s why we wouldn’t begin writing the obituary simply but. If Keyvan’s feedback are a real trace, they’d match simply as neatly with a wrap-up film as they’d with an outright cancelation. It could additionally monitor for Han: To All of the Boys was instructed throughout three motion pictures, and The Summer time I Turned Fairly is getting a movie follow-up after three seasons.

Why the silence is so uncommon for XO, Kitty

The explanation followers are so on edge is that this present has by no means needed to wait like this earlier than. Each of its earlier renewals got here in lower than a month: season 1 premiered on Might 18, 2023, and was renewed on June 14, whereas season 2 premiered on January 16, 2025, and was renewed on February 14.

Season 3 premiered on April 2, 2026. Seven months later, we’ve obtained nothing.

And it’s not as if the numbers have collapsed. We’ll maintain our arms up right here: when season 3 debuted, we known as season 4 a foregone conclusion, and on paper, it’s nonetheless exhausting to argue towards one. Season 3 opened at #1 on the English TV chart with 12.9 million views, and it went on to drag in 29.3 million views by means of June 30, ok for No. 16 in Netflix’s What We Watched report for the primary half of 2026.

There was some decay, as you’ll be able to see from the primary three weeks of every season, however nothing just like the drops we’ve seen elsewhere on Netflix:

By week 3, season 3 was 12% behind season 2 and 27% behind season 1. Good holds, however we did counsel on the time that the present could possibly be closing in on its closing season, both with season 4 or season 5.

Solely final week, in our late-2026 renewal predictions, we had XO, Kitty down as a probable renewal, probably as a closing season, whereas noting that it’s a headscratcher and the longer this goes on, the more serious the potential final result. We’re not tearing that up over a number of TikTok feedback, however they actually don’t assist, and a film is trying no less than as believable as a full fourth season.

For now, the ball stays in Netflix’s court docket. We’ll replace this publish as quickly as we hear something official.

Do you suppose Anthony Keyvan is hinting that XO, Kitty is over, or is he simply messing with followers? Would you accept a wrap-up film? Tell us within the feedback down under.
